Sun Systems for MySQL is intended to help enterprise customers deploying MySQL-based web infrastructure on Sun servers.

The product aims to improve MySQL performance, reduce power consumption and improve the price/performance ratio, with higher system reliability.

It includes solutions to address issues of x86 performance, virtualisation, multi-tier deployment, rich media storage and back-up while reducing costs in addition to power and space consumption.

The virtualisation aspect allows users to consolidate and scale their MySQL-based web services.

Rich media storage options allow users to host their media-rich data on a single integrated platform with dense storage.
