Fix My Street portal updated for easier government services

The Canberran Fix My Street portal has been enhanced with updated services, making it easier for people to access information about government services.

A number of new features have been added, including links to regular maintenance schedules and an interactive map that displays maintenance works that have already been actioned in the area.

“Canberrans currently make around 35,000 requests via Fix My Street each year. We’ve taken the most popular topic areas and made it easier to find information about these services online such as mowing schedules, garbage collection days, street sweeping, potholes, illegal graffiti and more,” said Minister for Regulatory Services Gordon Ramsay.

“Information is available with just a few clicks, and often means you won’t need to submit an enquiry and await a reply.”

A new interactive map of Canberra enables users to search by ‘Suburb’, and will then show issues reported online in the past 90 days for trees and shrubs, potholes, streetlights and abandoned shopping trolleys.

Fix My Street was first launched in 2010 as an online web form allowing the community to report municipal issues to the ACT government for action and response, and it continues to grow in popularity as more Canberrans transact online.

Minister for Transport Canberra and City Services Meegan Fitzharris said the new portal provided an easy and convenient avenue for the community to report or raise a concern about their neighbourhood amenity or services, aside from calling the Access Canberra Contact Centre.

“Canberrans can report a wide range of municipal issues via Fix My Street with 30 topic categories to choose from. They can do it at any time of the day or night, using their smartphones to capture key information,” Fitzharris said.

“Before you report, you can check to see if someone else has already reported it on the interactive map. This may answer your query and save you time.”
