NEC, Tyler to deliver case management for NT courts

The Northern Territory's Department of the Attorney-General and Justice (NTAGD) has awarded NEC Australia a three-year contract to help implement case management software across all court levels and locations in the territory.

Tyler Technologies Australia, a subsidiary of Texas-based public sector software developer Tyler Technologies, will provide the company's Odyssey Case Management software for the project.

As part of the contract, Tyler will provide multiple components of the Odyssey software suite, including dedicated components for use by judges, the public and administrators as well as financial management tools.

The software system will serve as a hub for all courts and tribunals in the territory to share and manage sensitive data.

Tyler will work with partner NEC Australia to complete the implementation and provide local technology services for the project's duration. The parent company is in the process of relocating additional employees to Australia for the project.

NTAGD conducted a tender for the court management software project starting in March last year, and selected Tyler's proposal after a strict evaluation process.

NEC Australia has been helping manage ICT projects for the NT Government for nearly 20 years. The company's Consulting and Business Solutions division in the territory performed research which helped NTAGD settle on the Odyssey platform.
