Extreme Networks XNV data centre virtualisation life cycle management

The XNV network-based dynamic data centre virtualisation life cycle management solution provides visibility, control and automation of virtual machines (VM) to the network administrator.

It comprises a set of loadable software modules addressing VM life cycle management for the ExtremeXOS modular operating system and its EPICentre network management suite.

The system is claimed to be the first data centre management system to provide dynamic virtualisation management across the network, logically bringing VM life cycle management to the network while boosting operational efficiency and security. With virtual port profiles, it enables ‘touchless’ virtualisation mobility, with visibility and security throughout the VM life cycle.

It allows users to migrate from a traditional or ‘physical’ infrastructure to a virtualised one without forcing a certain technology, or operating methodology, on the user.
