StruxureWare Central v7.0 infrastructure monitoring

Tuesday, 06 December, 2011

StruxureWare Central v7.0 includes updates over previous versions as well as the introduction of a virtual machine version of the application.

The product provides a way for organisations to monitor their company-wide physical infrastructure: power, cooling, security and environment. Real-time monitoring, user-defined reports and graphs, and instant fault notification and escalation enable quick assessment and resolution of critical infrastructure events that can adversely affect IT system availability.

This centralised repository of critical information can be accessed by multiple users from anywhere on the network, creating a consolidated view of the physical infrastructure.

This new version extends the options for deployment to the virtual environment. The software is available as a free download that includes support for five infrastructure devices and one surveillance camera. A licence key is required to add additional devices and cameras.

The virtual machine version allows the product to take advantage of the high availability and fault tolerant options offered by the major VM vendors.

The product includes the ability to sum and average like sensors for the purpose of graphing, trending and alarming, including determining the average temperature in a row or room, the total power in a rack and so on.

It delivers basic alarm information and device inventory via a browser interface. This client interface allows access to device status, device details and alarms, optimised for viewing on a variety of devices including smartphones, tablets and laptop PCs.
