Hard drives

Seagate has added two drives to its Cheetah enterprise-class hard drive family: the 15K.7 and the NS.2.

Built for 3.5" Tier 1 storage applications, the drives feature 600 GB of storage capacity. The 15K.7 aims for performance, while the NS.2 features a low power requirement.

Both drives feature 2nd-generation PowerTrim technology, which dynamically optimises drive power consumption. Using the technology, the NS.2 provides power savings of more than 20% over previous generations.

The drives are available as self-encrypting drives for designated OEMs, providing government-grade data security and secure erase for drives repurposed, re-used, recycled, or returned for expired lease, repair or warranty.
