Hitachi Universal Storage Platform V

Thursday, 02 April, 2009

Hitachi has enhanced its Universal Storage Platform V and Universal Storage Platform VM.

Enhancements include support for flash-based drives. Such drives enable increased application performance, availability and scalability and increased bandwidth.

Customers can use the tiered storage capabilities of the V to enable non-disruptive, transparent data migration between flash-based volumes and traditional hard disk drives.

The systems now also support IPv6, supporting more storage networking options.
