Dual radio access point

Tuesday, 15 September, 2009

Trapeze Networks has introduced the Trapeze Mobility Point MP-432, a high-performance 802.11n (3 x 3) multiple input/multiple output, dual radio access point, with maximum aggregate data rates of up to 600 Mbps. It is designed for enterprises that need to deploy high-speed Wi-Fi networks with excellent coverage.

MP-432 features built-in internal antennas to provide outstanding coverage and range enhancements without having to configure ‘rabbit ear’ antennas. Its ‘smoke detector’ design makes MP-432 less conspicuous, therefore safer to be deployed in openly accessible venues.

With its Smart Mobile architecture, all access points are a centrally managed cluster of controllers, or a big virtual controller. This approach enables easier configurations and deployment for large-scale Wi-Fi networks, and offers sub-second failover time in case of any WLAN controller failure.

The MP-432 is backward compatible with current 802.11a/b/g Wi-Fi clients, providing investment protection for existing Wi-Fi devices in enterprises.
