Epson EcoTank printer range

Epson has launched its EcoTank printer range designed to include up to two years of ink without the need for cartridge replacement. The range consists of the Expression ET-2500 and ET-2550, and the WorkForce ET-4500 and ET-4550 for the home or home office user.

The devices are wireless all-in-one printers with integrated ink systems. The high-capacity ink tank, instead of a cartridge, supplies ink continuously to the printer. To replace ink, users top up the tank with ink bottles which hold enough ink to print between 4000 and 11,000 pages in black and 6500 and 8500 pages in colour, depending on the model.

The ET-2500 features up to 2400 dpi scanning and allows users to print wirelessly from Android and iOS devices using Epson’s free iPrint app. The ET-2550 has these options but also features a 1.44″ colour LCD screen, Wi-Fi Direct for router-free printing and Epson Connect which enables printing from smart devices using Google Cloud Print. It can also be shared with up to four devices at once.

The ET-4500 has the functionality of the previous models but also greater flexibility. It features a 2.2″ Mono LCD screen as part of its control panel and can also copy, scan, fax or print complex documents with a 30-page automatic document feeder. In comparison, the ET-4550 is the top-level printer in the range, which in addition to having the key features of the other models has Epson’s PrecisionCore inkjet technology. Users have access to two years’ worth of ink but in this model that constitutes up to 11,000 pages in black and 8500 pages in colour.
