Panasonic Toughbook CF-54 semi-rugged laptop

Panasonic Australia has added the CF-54 Windows Toughbook laptop to its Toughbook line-up of rugged solutions for mobile workers from government to field service, utilities and sales.

The semi-rugged laptop is both thin and light and comes equipped with the latest 5th Generation Intel Core vPro Processor, delivering increased performance and lower power consumption. The 14″ display can be supplied in either Full HD (1920x1080), or Full HD with capacitive multitouch touchscreen for clarity and visual detail. It operates off Windows 8.1 Pro Update with an option for Windows 7 Professional.

The product is well protected with magnesium plating used on all four sides, spill protection for the keyboard and display area and a honeycomb-style bonnet for protection from impacts. It has been tested to survive drops of up to 76 cm and also comes with improved vibration resistance from previous models. The laptop also features an integrated carry handle and offers up to 11 h of battery life, or up to 18 h with an optional hot-swappable second battery.

The device comes with a range of interfaces including a standard LAN port, VGA and HDMI for data projectors, printers and displays, a True Serial port for connection to legacy systems, USB 3.0 and 2.0 ports and an SD card slot. Wireless LAN a/b/g/n/ac (up to 866 Mbps) and Bluetooth v4.0 are included for fast data transfer. A docking connector for vehicle or desktop mounting and an option for 4G LTE, dual pass through antenna, contactless smart card reader and fingerprint reader are also available.
