Plantronics Voyager 5200 and Voyager 5200 UC Bluetooth headsets

The Plantronics Voyager 5200 and Voyager 5200 UC Bluetooth headsets feature WindSmart technology to provide wind and noise reduction.

The technology is able to detect wind direction and adjust accordingly, so that the user’s voice can come through clearly. The aerodynamic boom on the product lets wind slide past without creating turbulence. The boom’s windscreen acts as the first layer of protection for the mics, and then each mic is further sheltered in a ‘wind box’. Four omnidirectional mics and a proprietary wind-cancelling algorithm keep the mics focused on the wearer’s voice and remove disruptive noise.

Designed for stability and comfort on a wide range of ear shapes and sizes, according to the company it will fit 90% of wearers. The device offers up to seven hours of talk time on a single charge, with up to nine days in standby mode. A multipurpose charging case serves as both a dock for recharging the headset and a protective case that provides up to an additional 14 hours of talk time on the go.

The products include a charging case and the BT600 Class 1 USB Bluetooth adapter, making multidevice connectivity and communication from computers, tablets, video appliances and mobile phones easy and seamless.

Additional features include a multifunction button that allows users to mute a call with a single touch, as well as quick access to Siri and other smartphone virtual personal assistants when the headset is idle; extended Class 1 Bluetooth range that lets users control up to two connected smartphones or tablets from up to 30 m away; responsive smart sensor technology which intuitively routes call audio to the phone or headset, pauses media or rejects an incoming call when removed, and automatically answers calls once the headset is placed on the ear; a spill, splash and sweat-proof nanocoating protects the product from moisture; voice commands and audio alerts allow wearers to use their voice to answer or ignore calls, while whispered alerts provide the name of incoming callers and update on battery level and connection status; and a smartphone app for iOS and Android that enables users to manage, customise and control the headset from the phone.
