Whyalla tops My Local Services app uptake

The My Local Services app has proved popular around South Australia, with Whyalla recording the highest increase in downloads last month.

Throughout April, there was a 31% increase in app downloads for Whyalla. Other councils with high download rates included Kentish, Mt Remarkable and Tea Tree Gully.

Since the app was relaunched last year, there has been an overall increase of more than 50% in residents downloading and using the technology.

That is an increase from just over 600 people late last year, to 972 now using the app, which provides handy notifications, news and information.

The app has many uses, including submitting a report to council about a concern in the neighbourhood, reminders for when bins are due to be put out and information on waste and other services.
