DIIS picks TechnologyOne for shared services project

The Department of Industry, Innovation and Science has awarded TechnologyOne a $7 million software-as-a-service (SaaS) shared services contract.

The deal marks Australian enterprise software provider TechnologyOne’s second deal with the federal government to establish a shared services hub, following a similar agreement with the Department of Treasury.

Between them the two shared service hubs are expected to manage more than 40 federal government agencies.

TechnologyOne Chairman Adrian Di Marco said the company will be able to provide the departments with an enterprise-wide SaaS solution covering financials, supply chain, HRP, analytics, CRM and asset management.

“[Our solution] is a single instance of software, delivered globally, running thousands of customers. It produces massive economies of scale that hosting providers cannot come close to, including two releases of software per year being the TechnologyOne University for ‘just in time training’ and ‘defence in-depth security’,” he said.

“This is all provided standard as part of our SaaS solution and we guarantee it will be futureproof.”

The company already has six federal government customers using its SaaS solution and aims to attract significantly more state and federal government customers.
