Dell has launched Data Protection Rapid Recovery to help organisations better protect business-critical systems, applications and data — either on premises or in the cloud.
The product optimises users’ application experiences and simplifies backup and recovery, integrating features of AppAssure and other Dell IP to help eliminate downtime for customer environments. The Rapid Snap for Applications feature takes snapshots of entire physical or virtual environments up to every 5 min, giving users immediate access to data in the event of an incident as well as the power to restore in real time.
Rapid Snap for Virtual technology offers scalable protection of VMware VMs without disrupting applications and users, while the Virtual Standby feature continually sends updates to a virtual machine that can be activated in the event that there is an issue with the primary machine. A Cloud Archive feature enables organisations to archive static data to Microsoft Azure, Amazon S3, Rackspace or any OpenStack provider. This also expands recovery options by directly mounting archives for simple bare-metal restore and file-level restore.
