The E-2D-POE is the latest addition to NTI’s E-2d Series Environment Monitoring System. The E-2D-POE is powered over Ethernet and supports a range of sensors and security devices designed to remotely monitor laboratory conditions and security. When an environmental sensor exceeds a configurable threshold or a security sensor is triggered, system administrators can be notified via email, alarm beacon, front panel LED indicators, web page notification, network management (SNMP) software or via an SMS.

The E-2D-POE provides two RJ45 ports for connecting external environmental and gas sensors, five digital (dry contact) inputs and one relay output. The environmental sensors include temperature and humidity sensors, duct and pipe temperature sensors, liquid/water, air, and smoke detectors. The security sensors include a range of power, motion, vibration and intrusion detectors.

The E-2D-POE can monitor (ping) up to 16 IP addresses to determine if critical networked devices are up and running. IP surveillance cameras can be viewed via a web interface and event-triggered IP camera snapshots can be sent via email. Two USB ports allow the system to send alerts via USB 3G modem or to download data to a USB drive.

While the E-2D-POE is powered over Ethernet, it also includes a secondary 9 VDC 3 A input for backup power. The E-2D Series is also available with dual 9 VDC inputs, 24 VDC inputs or an optional rechargeable SLA battery for two hours of back-up power.
