Vertiv launches AI-powered micro data centre

Vertiv has launched a new AI-powered micro modular data centre in Australia and other Asia–Pacific markets.

The Vertiv SmartAisle 3 uses the power of AI to enable efficient operations within the data centre environment, including self-learning features designed to help significantly optimise the micro data centre’s operational and energy efficiency.

The fully integrated data centre ecosystem consists of racks, uninterruptible power supplies, thermal management and monitoring, and physical security. Each carriage or rack cabinet is supported by a smart power output device designed to seamlessly manage the power distribution to individual racks.

The SmartAisle 3 can be configured for up to 120 kW of IT load, making it suitable for a range of industry verticals including banking, health care, government and transportation. It is designed with built-in cabling integration to eliminate the hassle of complex onsite cabling installation.

The one-click networking feature is likewise designed to reduce the complexity of onsite set-up. AI self-learning capabilities intelligently monitor and adjust temperature depending on the operating environment to maximise energy savings.

Vertiv Asia VP for Product Management Cheehoe Ling said the platform has been designed based on demand from customers.

“As demand for data-intensive applications continues to rapidly grow, many businesses are requiring their data centre infrastructure to be deployed quickly and efficiently, and to be as scalable as possible,” Ling said. "Vertiv enriched the Vertiv SmartAisle 3 with AI features to help our customers simplify their data centre operations, so they can have greater flexibility in their business operation, and to help them achieve their energy efficiency goals.”
