Powerlink Qld taps SAP for climate reporting
Queensland’s state government transmission network services provider Powerlink Queensland has implemented a new sustainability monitoring solution from SAP to help improve and automate its climate-related data capture.
Under the agreement, Powerlink has implemented SAP Sustainability Control Tower to support its climate and other ESG reporting requirements.
Powerlink operates a power transmission network spanning 1700 km from Cairns to the NSW border, which includes 15,345 circuit kilometres’ worth of transmission lines and 147 substations.
The company has already previously adopted SAP S/4 HANA and SAP Analytics Cloud as part of its modernisation and digital transformation efforts, and is now using SAP Sustainability Control Tower to accurately track data and sustainability ambitions across its supply chain.
Powerlink Executive General Manager for People & Corporate Services Leigh Pickering said the new solution will help the company meet its mandatory climate-related financial reporting requirements.
“By implementing SAP Sustainability Control Tower, we can improve the accuracy and traceability of this vital reporting on greenhouse gas emissions and are better positioned to meet our reporting commitments to the government,” she said.
The implementation will be followed by the implementation of SAP SuccessFactors towards the end of the year to support its recruitment, hiring, training and workforce development activities.
