New platform to enhance security for Australian horse racing

CGI and Rise Racing have joined forces to create a new digital ID platform for anyone involved in Australian horse racing. An account gives participants access to a check-in dashboard that allows drivers, trainers and owners to automate ID checks and ensure secure check-in. The new digital ID product is built within RISE Racing’s integrated platform.

Digital swabbing, the transformation of a traditionally paper-based tracking process, is currently being developed and will be integrated into the solution in the coming months. Enhanced security features and restrictions on who can access the platform ensure that no unauthorised individuals will have access to the information entered. One of the key benefits of the system is limiting challenges to data integrity such as the loss or alteration of records.

The digital ID’s integrity features validate each individual for a streamlined process — every participant has an account and their identification information resides in the platform until it needs to be validated. There is the option to print a physical ID card after identity has been confirmed.

The system’s checks are implemented live against a proven database that resides securely within the platform. Unlike other states and bodies, digital ID operates at a national level, which improves overall organisational efficiency.
