Toshiba forms new Australian unit

Toshiba has created a new Australian subsidiary focused on providing mobile computing technologies for the enterprise, government, education and SMB markets.

Toshiba Client Solutions ANZ (TCSAN) will be headquartered in Sydney and led by Toshiba Australia’s current managing director, Mark Whittard. It will serve both the Australian and New Zealand markets.

Whittard said the move is aimed at providing customers with expanded access to additional technical resources, build-to-order capabilities and support, while improving operational efficiencies.

In addition, the restructuring will create operational synergies with Toshiba America Information Systems’ new Client Solutions division, which was established as part of Toshiba’s recently announced global revitalisation plan.

“Transitioning the mobile computing business out from Toshiba Australia, and aligning with Toshiba America Information Systems, reaffirms Toshiba’s commitment to maintaining its mobile computing business in Australia and New Zealand,” Whittard said.

“This new entity will deliver expanded offerings and improved business efficiencies, resulting in best-in-class solutions for our professional customers.”
