Hightail to open APAC HQ in Melbourne
Cloud file sharing and collaboration company Hightail has revealed plans to set up its Asia-Pacific headquarters in Melbourne.
The company, which changed its name from YouSendIt in mid-2013, has around 600,000 end users and 125 corporate accounts in Australia.
Hightail GM for Asia-Pacific Kevin Mackin said the company chose Melbourne due to its dynamic creative industry and strong talent pool of IT executives.
Victorian Minister for Technology Gordon Rich Phillips added that the new office will create up to 20 new jobs in Melbourne’s technology sector.
“The Hightail announcement ... is the latest in a continuing trend of leading technology companies choosing Melbourne as the location for their Australian and Asia-Pacific headquarters,” he said.
“With nine universities and a strong network of research facilities, Melbourne is recognised internationally as the innovation capital of Australia.”
