NEC hosted managed service

Thursday, 27 August, 2009

NEC Australia has extended its cloud computing and services strategy with the launch of a hosted managed service aimed at SMEs.

Hosted out of the Polaris data centre, the company claims to be bringing the security, resilience and peace of mind provided by a Tier 3 data centre to the SME market.

The launch follows previous company announcements outlining a strategy to focus on the delivery of managed services and cloud-based offerings alongside the core broadband access, unified communications and digital signage businesses.

The company has taken 500 m² of space within the Polaris data centre and fitted it out with best-of-breed racks, servers, networking equipment and high-speed internet to provide a complete hosted solution to businesses. The centre provides comprehensive failover, power redundancy and security.
