Veritas Storage Foundation High Availability 6.0 for Windows Server failover

Monday, 12 December, 2011

Veritas Storage Foundation High Availability 6.0 for Windows (comprising Storage Foundation 6.0 for Windows and Cluster Server 6.0 for Windows) is designed to help organisations rapidly failover Windows Server applications, recover Windows Server Hyper-V virtual machines from site-wide failures, and improve storage efficiency and application resilience in private cloud environments.

In the event of a fault, the product is intended to detect the failure instantly with asynchronous monitoring and notification, instead of the traditional polling-based monitoring. Once the failure is detected, it optimises the failover time by eliminating steps related to making storage accessible on the failover target server; eliminated steps include scanning the disks and importing disk groups.

As a result, failover time can be improved - up to a claimed 30 times faster than previous results.
