Telecom NZ rebrands as Spark

Telecom New Zealand will change its name to Spark in a rebranding exercise that will also cover the company’s Gen-i and Telecom Digital Ventures units.

The name change will take place later this year. Until that time, the company will continue to trade as Telecom and Gen-i.

Under the changes, the parent company, Telecom Corporation of New Zealand Limited, will become Spark New Zealand Limited.

Gen-i will become Spark Digital Solutions and will provide solutions for business, enterprise and government clients.

Telecom Digital Ventures will be known as Spark Ventures.

“As a company we’ve moved far beyond the home telephone. Spark better represents what we are today - it is all about digital services, fibre, mobile, data, cloud, entertainment, apps, or whatever new technology is around the corner,” said the company’s chief executive, Simon Moutter.

The renamed organisation will retain the existing logo.
