Digital Realty opens second Melbourne DC
Data centre operator Digital Realty Trust has officially opened its second tier III facility in Melbourne.
The 8690 m2 Deer Park facility was launched on Friday by Victorian technology minister Gordon Rich-Phillips.
Digital Realty last year committed to investing around $150 million in Victoria, and the new facility forms part of this allocation.
“Digital Deer Park is a key part of our Australian growth strategy,” Digital Realty Regional Head for APAC Kris Kumar said. The company also operates a data centre for NAB in Victoria and has four facilities in New South Wales.
The new Melbourne facility consists of four 1400 kW data halls based on the company’s Turn-key Flex data centre offering.
Digital Realty operates data centres in 33 markets in North America, Europe and APAC.
