Unitas experiences 80% regional growth with new data centre provider

Choosing a new data centre provider has allowed Unitas Global to grow 80% in the Asia-Pacific region.

Unitas provides a suite of outsourced IT infrastructure services to businesses throughout the world. The company’s global network of more than 100 data centres allows its customers to purchase their entire IT infrastructure as a single managed service.

Unitas sought a new data centre service provider to help the company to expand its global footprint. Unitas was looking for a provider that could serve as a gateway to Asia-Pacific and help accelerate its business growth in the region.

The company chose a solution from Equinix. Unitas is currently present in the data centre provider’s IBX data centres in Singapore (SG2) and Sydney (SY3).

Equinix has enabled Unitas to expand into new markets, allowing the company to host and manage complex IT infrastructure as a single managed service, and simplify its operations.

“Time to deployment is a really big factor in the cloud computing space as it is a real-time environment,” said Grant Kirkwood, founder and CEO of Unitas Global.

The new solution “enables us to be a lot more nimble, quick to deploy and helps accelerate our business growth in the Asia-Pacific region”, Kirkwood said.

From its initial deployment in the US and Europe to its recent expansion in Singapore and Sydney, Equinix has helped Unitas reduce cost and management time by 20%, by providing scalability, global reach and access to a partner network of over 4000 customers in its IBX data centres.

Equinix features dedicated ecosystems within its data centres that connect more than 500 cloud and IT service providers offering software-as-a-service (SaaS), infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS), managed services and systems integration.

The solution “has helped us future-proof the delivery of cloud services by providing a ready-made marketplace that provides exposure to partners, suppliers and customers, enabling the opportunity for new revenue streams”, said Kirkwood.

Unitas has experienced 80% growth in the Asia-Pacific region since deploying in Equinix’s IBX data centres.

Kirkwood said the new solution provides “the ability to minimise downtime when implementing a new deployment”.

Moving forward, Unitas also plans to expand into other Equinix data centre locations in Asia-Pacific to meet growing demand in the region.
