Guidance Software EnCase Forensic certified for Dell Digital Forensics

Monday, 11 January, 2010

Dell has announced that Guidance Software’s computer forensics solution EnCase Forensic has been certified to work on Dell’s Digital Forensics solution. The two companies will also work together to bring the Digital Forensics solution to their key users globally.

Dell’s Digital Forensics solution, launched in 2009, is a major step forward in supporting police in effectively managing this critical data in criminal investigations and Guidance Software’s EnCase Forensic software is widely used in law enforcement. Its addition to Dell’s solution will further support Dell’s effort to increase the productivity of digital forensics experts by helping to reducing general indexing and analysis time of all data that is necessary for criminal investigations. Guidance Software’s market share in standalone forensics, coupled with its industry-standard EnCase Evidence File evidence container, is designed to maintain and verify chain-of-custody of digital evidence.

Dell’s Digital Forensics solution offers a data centre approach compared to the standard individual workstations standard, improving the efficiency of sharing and administering data across analyst teams while supporting strict evidence handling guidelines to help ensure the integrity of the evidence. It is supported by AccessData, EMC, Intel, Oracle, Symantec, VEGA and now Guidance Software.
