Power IQ Data Center energy management software claims to be a secure, centralised, power management solution that consolidates high volumes of power data and transforms it into useful information efficiently. It is suitable for the banking and financial services, government, communications and utilities sectors.

Through a single web interface, it makes management of and data collection for multiple rack power distribution units (PDUs) easier, improving data centre availability, capacity planning and energy efficiency. The software automates secure, time-based power control and enables analytics reporting of energy costs, temperature readings, active power, line capacities and carbon footprint.

Trending reports including cumulative totals at the data centre, floor, room, rack, customer and IT device level can be generated. Customer energy billback cost reports can be generated in local currencies. It manages a wide variety of PDUs, including the company’s Dominion PX and third-party rack PDUs, including APC, Geist, Server Technology.

The system is open database compliant and can be integrated with current data warehouse and enterprise reporting systems. The software simplifies PX configuration and firmware management with standards-based authentication, web session timeout and IPbased access control.
