Unixpac Shavlik NetChk Protect 7.5

Wednesday, 09 June, 2010

Shavlik NetChk Protect 7.5 helps eliminate security gaps and barriers to greener IT by integrating patch, AV and power management. It maximises energy cost savings while minimising systems missing critical security updates (patches) and antivirus definitions because they were powered off during scheduled maintenance periods.

By integrating power management with patch management and antivirus protection, it manages power as well as maintains the health of computers. It integrates scheduled changes to power state (shutdown, sleep, hibernate) and Wake on LAN to power machines on for regular maintenance. The company has also released a free power-savings calculator.

Users can create custom power state templates, perform scheduled or ad hoc power tasks. It gives users control to cancel or delay planned reboots, trigger scheduled or ad hoc wake-on-LAN tasks, agentless or integrated in to the Shavlik Agent.
