Education Awards nominations now open

Nominations are now open for the 2022 WA Education Awards, with new categories including collective leadership, innovation and learning.

The awards celebrate schools that play an exemplary role in shaping the lives of children and young people every day.

This year’s awards feature three school award categories, including:

• Excellence in School Leadership Award
• Excellence in Teaching and Learning Award (Primary)
• Excellence in Teaching and Learning Award (Secondary)
   

The categories this year focus on collective leadership and excellence in teaching and learning.

Parents, students and community members can send schools a message of support via an online form called Award Applause, to inspire them to nominate.

Three finalists will be selected for each category, with winners announced at a presentation event in mid-November.

Winning schools will each receive $10,000 to go towards a project or program at the school.

The awards are sponsored by the LIFT Alliance, a consortium of specialist IT providers — Kinetic IT, ASG Group, Campfire and Systemic.

Nominations for the awards close on 15 August 2022.

“Our public schools have led with resilience, determination and leadership throughout what has been a challenging and unprecedented time,” said Sue Ellery, Education and Training Minister.

“Schools have remained pillars of strength in their communities, and have continued to provide support and learning opportunities for students.

“The three categories for this year’s awards highlight the collective impact that a whole school has in helping students to grow and achieve their best.

“It’s important to recognise the excellence of schools, and I encourage staff, school council and board chairs, and P&C presidents to work together to nominate their school.”
