Confluent completes IRAP assessment
Data streaming technology company Confluent has become the latest entity to complete an Australian Information Security Registered Assessors Program (IRAP) assessment at the Protected classification level.
The assessment will pave the way for government agencies with Protected level requirements to deploy Confluent Cloud across Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud.
The Confluent platform is designed to allow customers to integrate their data across applications and systems and process this data in real time. The platform includes a dedicated engine for providing streaming capabilities which promise improved scale, elasticity, resilience, global availability and cost-efficiency over traditional methods.
The solution also provides native stream processing capabilities, and it includes an integrated governance suite to allow self-service management of Confluent instances.
Confluent ANZ Regional Director Simon Laskaj said these capabilities can help Australian government agencies avoid having to rely on data that has been stored in rest systems for extended periods.
“With the successful completion of the IRAP assessment at the Protected level, government agencies can now transform fragmented internal systems and workflows with Confluent,” he said. “This will enable real-time applications for its citizen services across multi- and hybrid-cloud environments, allowing citizens to enjoy more digital and connected experiences when engaging with agencies.”
Confluent already has multiple Australian state and federal government agencies as customers. The company maintains a dedicated on-ground team of security-cleared data streaming experts to support its Australian government business.
