ACS appoints new CEO
The Australian Computer Society (ACS) has appointed Alan Patterson as its new CEO, effective immediately.
Patterson has experience in a wide of sectors including not-for-profit, healthcare, accreditation and training.
This includes stints as CEO of the National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA), Managing Director of Pearl Healthcare and International Marketing Manager of GC Corporation.
“Alan is a highly qualified senior manager who possesses an excellent understanding of the challenges and opportunities that impact professional bodies. He has strong senior management experience gained while running businesses of various sizes and delivering organisational change,” said ACS President Anthony Wong.
Patterson seems keen to take on the responsibilities of CEO.
“I am proud to be a part of the ACS. I look forward to implementing the society’s strategic plan and raising the profile of ICT professionals in Australia,” Patterson said.
Patterson said one of his initial tasks will be to progress the certification of ICT professionals.
