AIIA taking nominations for 2016 iAwards
The AIIA is inviting nominations for this year's iAwards, which aims to recognise and support innovation within the Australian digital economy.
Participants from across all sectors of the economy, ranging from corporates and researchers to start-ups and students, are being invited to nominate for the awards.
This year's awards will be structured around five categories which relate to the primary market for the innovation. These are consumer, community services, industrial and primary industries, business services and public sector and government.
Additional awards will be handed out for the year's best R&D project, start-up, exporter, infrastructure and platform innovation, big data innovation and mobility innovation.
Finalists will be invited to participate in a Pitch Fest in September, and one winning team will receive an up to $25,000 reward.
Eligible companies in the consumer, industrial and business services categories will compete for an up to $50,000 business development award. Companies will need to be at least two years old and meet a minimum revenue threshold, and must mutually agree with the AIIA on a use for the funds.
Finally, the innovator of the year will be eligible for an expenses-paid trip to compete at the Asia-Pacific ICT Alliance Awards for 2016 worth up to $15,000.
Applications for the 2016 iAwards will be open until 31 March.
