ATP Innovations appoints new CEO

ATP Innovations has announced Petra Andren will step up into the newly vacated role of CEO, after four years with the business, and will replace outgoing CEO Hamish Hawthorn.

Andren was previously ATP Innovations’ director of strategy and business development and in this position was responsible for helping portfolio companies raise venture funding, access government grants and scale their businesses into global markets.

ATP Innovations said Andren’s background has given her “strong domain expertise in life sciences” to stand her in good stead to work across the business’s other industry verticals, such as hardware and software, having previously been the managing director of Octapharma Australia.

“The board has complete confidence that Petra Andren is the right person to be our next CEO,” said ATP Innovations Chairman Graham Cook.

“Petra’s four years at ATP Innovations have been marked by outstanding performance and demonstration of her extensive experience, skills and sound judgment in everything she does.”

Cook also thanked outgoing CEO Hawthorn for his nine years of service at the helm.

“Hamish’s vision and leadership has guided ATP Innovations to its position as one of the world’s leading technology business incubators,” said Cook. “Hamish has been an integral part of ATP Innovation’s success, inspiring and guiding the founders of our portfolio companies and the ATP Innovations team.”

Hawthorn will be moving on to Upguard, a cybersecurity company that was previously at ATP Innovations and is now based in Silicon Valley.
