Gov ICT Awards winners announced
Winners for the 11th Australian Government ICT Awards 2016 were announced at an awards presentation dinner held during the CeBIT Australia 2016 event on Tuesday evening of 3 May.
These awards recognise and promote excellence, innovation and professionalism in the use of ICT across federal, state/territory and local government agencies.
The award winners for seven div categories follow on.
Award winners
- Overall Excellence in eGovernment Award & Government 2.0 Category
Winner: National Blood Authority. Project: MyABDR project.
About: Entrants were asked to demonstrate how their project showed excellence in the use of digital tools to improve engagement with stakeholders.
- Excellence in Applications Development
Winner: Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Project: Free Trade Agreement Portal
About: This category showcases a project that demonstrates excellence in applications development; for example, how it addresses complexity, meets customer/business needs or improved responsiveness for the user.
- Excellence in Geospatial Initiatives and Solutions
Winner: South Australian Department of Primary Industries and Regions. Project: AgInsight South Australia Information Portal
About: Entrants were asked to show how an initiative or project demonstrated excellence in geospatial initiatives and solutions; for example, how it addressed complexity, was innovative, developed technologies and techniques or provided future value to the geospatial community.
- Excellence in Project and Program Management
Winner: Sustainability Victoria. Project: SV Enabled
About: This category showcases how well a program demonstrates excellence in the management and efficiency of ICT-enabled projects, including planning, scheduling, resourcing and customer satisfaction.
- Excellence in Service Delivery
Winner: New South Wales Electoral Commission. Project: iVote at the 2015 NSW State General Election
About: Entrants were asked to show how their project demonstrated excellence in the delivery of online services. In addition to this they had to show how well it delivered streamlined and high-quality government services that are efficient, targeted and integrated, making them simpler and easier to use.
The ICT Professional of the Year Award went to Chris Moon from Sustainability Victoria, while the ICT Professional Team of the Year went to the Blood Sector Systems Team from the National Blood Authority.
