HealthShare NSW taps Oracle for hardware revamp
HealthShare NSW, the shared services delivery arm of NSW Health, has selected Oracle to help upgrade its hardware infrastructure.
HealthShare NSW is refreshing its hardware and building a new technology platform in a bid to address new processing requirements, increase service centre efficiency and reduce operating costs.
The organisation will use Oracle Engineered Systems for the rollout, including the vendor’s Exadata Database Machines and Exalogic Elastic Cloud solutions.
HealthShare NSW is already using Oracle’s E-Business Suite to support payroll and HR processing for some 129,000 NSW Health employees, after completing a project to consolidate its ERP requirements into a single platform.
The organisation is also planing to implement a state-wide identity management system for NSW Health staff and has selected an Oracle offering as the single sign-on platform.
“NSW Health with HealthShare NSW seeks to provide high-quality future state shared services to support the delivery of patient care within the state’s health system,” HealthShare NSW CEO Mike Rillstone said.
“This project, which includes the implementation of the most efficient technologies, is in keeping with the department’s sustainable business solution approach and helps to ensure ongoing improvement, increasing levels of efficiency and greater savings for NSW Health.”
