India's Dexler opens Australian e-learning HQ
Indian online educational services provider Dexler Information Solutions has opened a new Australian headquarters, after buying into the market through an acquisition.
The new Melbourne headquarters is expected to employ around 25 skilled workers. The facility was officially opened on Friday by Victorian Minister for Technology Gordon Rich-Phillips.
Dexler acquired Online Learning Australia (OLLA) earlier this year. OLLA is an online learning service provider with clients including ANZ, Telstra, NAB, AMP, Westpac and Target.
Dexler was established in India in 2001 as an education and training provider. The company has since moved into online services and has operations in India, Singapore and the US.
The global e-learning market is projected to be worth $51 billion by 2016, and Asia-Pacific is the fastest-growing region.
Rich-Phillips commented that there has been a series of foreign technology investments in Victoria since the start of the year. During the period, India’s Cyient and US-based Hightail, TinTri and Equinix have all announced multimillion-dollar ICT investments in the state.
“Since November 2010, the Coalition Government has helped facilitate over $1 billion in new technology-related investment, creating 4700 jobs,” he said.
