Time still left to enter 2016 iAwards
Australian innovators still have 10 days to get their entries in to the iAwards program, which recognises and rewards home-grown technology innovations and solutions having a positive impact on communities, either domestically or overseas.
The deadline for nominations has been extended to 18 April 2016.
Nominations are open to anyone from students and start-ups to corporate, research, government and academia.
“The iAwards is not just about winning. Its greatest benefit is in offering individuals and businesses an opportunity to develop and communicate their brand identity, strength in innovation and competitive advantage in their given field,” said Rob Fitzpatrick, newly appointed CEO of the Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA), which hosts the program.
So far the iAwards has seen a 20% increase in nominations across 10 industry sectors, compared to the previous year. The AIIA said it is focusing on building a strong network of business mentors to support this year’s finalists.
“The iAwards is an ideal showcase for Australian visionaries who want to demonstrate their best innovations and innovative projects. I’m delighted to see students, governments and large corporates all put their hats in the ring to compete — all in the name of celebrating great ideas,” added Fitzpatrick.
