Tyco Electronics to become TE Connectivity
Tyco Electronics Ltd announced plans late last week to change its name to TE Connectivity Ltd. The change is subject to Swiss regulatory approval, which the company expects to receive by 25 March 2011.
The company’s New York Stock Exchange ticket symbol - TEL - will remain the same.
According to CEO Tom Lynch, the new name better reflects the company’s product range.
“We offer more than 500,000 products that connect and protect the flow of power and data inside millions of products that consumers and industries use every day, all around the globe. From smartphones to satellites, automobiles to airplanes, dishwashers to data centres, we’re in it,” Lynch said.
