Brocade appoints Schliesser as distinguished engineer

Networking vendor Brocade has appointed Benson Schliesser to the position of distinguished engineer.

In his new role, Schliesser will help shape Brocade’s software defined networking (SDN) and network functions virtualisation (NFV) strategies and product design.

He will also work with Brocade customers to design next-generation architectures that meet their networking needs.

Benson has had a nearly 20-year career in the networking industry, most recently as a distinguished engineer at Juniper Networks.

Prior to this, he was a principal engineer in the service provider CTO office at Cisco, and also spent more than a decade working in the office of the CTO at Savvis.

Schliesser is also involved with industry associations including the Internet Engineering Task Force, ETSI ISG NFV, IEEE Communications Society and the OpenDaylight Project.
