Check Point Software expands Australian presence
Check Point Software has expanded its Australian data residence capabilities with the implementation of local instances of its Check Point Harmony SASE and Check Point CloudGuard WAF security tools. The company says the deployment will help Australian customers meet local data privacy, security and compliance requirements for the storage and processing of data.
The point of presence for Check Point CloudGuard WAF also aims to result in reduced latency and improved performance for local customers, the company said. CloudGuard WAF is a cloud-native solution designed to provide pre-emptive protection of public and private sector organisations’ critical data.
Meanwhile, the delivery of Harmony SASE as a local instance will help support customers’ digital transformation initiatives, the company added. The solution consolidates Firewall-as-a-Service, Secure Web Gateway, Zero Trust Network Access, SaaS security and SD-WAN into a single cloud-delivered platform.
Harmony SASE is designed to use AI and machine learning to block threats such as malware, phishing and anomalous network activity, and to be manageable over a single-pane-of-glass interface.
Check Point MD for ANZ David Caspari said the company is committed to the Australian market.
“The launch of a local Harmony SASE and CloudGuard WAF instance represents a critical investment in the region and reinforces Australian enterprises requiring scalable security infrastructures that support remote work, SaaS usage and branch connectivity, while adhering to local compliance regulations, including the ASD Essential Eight and Security of Critical Infrastructure,” he said. “This milestone underscores our commitment to strengthening our relationship with customers while helping them to optimise their IT investments. We are excited to drive substantial value and support swift cybersecurity modernisation.”
