Fujitsu and DigiCert to automate digital certificate renewals
Fujitsu has announced a strategic partnership with digital trust authority DigiCert. The collaboration will bring together the DigiCert ONE platform with Fujitsu’s consulting, integration and managed services to give its customers an automated approach to certificate lifecycle management that reduces operational complexity and strengthens resilience, according to Fujitsu.
The maximum lifespan of a public Transport Layer Security certificate, a critical component of online security, is set to shrink from the current 200 days to just 47 days by 2029. For businesses in Australia and New Zealand, this will significantly increase the risk of a single oversight causing a costly outage. And as digital certificates become increasingly critical to securing applications, devices, cloud environments, machine identities and even AI agent identities, organisations are under growing pressure to modernise how they manage trust.
The partnership aims to address critical industry-wide challenges by automating certificate lifecycle management, which reduces operational risk, prevents outages and lowers costs for IT and security teams.
Through the partnership, Fujitsu will deliver implementation, integration and managed services for DigiCert ONE, helping users automate certificate lifecycle management and improve visibility across certificate environments as the industry prepares for shorter Transport Layer Security certificate lifespans as well as post-quantum cryptography.
