Fortinet FortiGate-60C and FortiWifi-60C security appliances

Tuesday, 03 August, 2010

FortiGate-60C and FortiWifi-60C multi-threat security appliances are designed for branch offices and small businesses and service providers delivering managed services in customer premise equipment (CPE) deployments and provide protection comparable to higher-end FortiGate appliances designed for large enterprise and carrier environments.

Fortinet’s system-on-a-chip (SOC) architecture combines a traditional system CPU with FortiASIC content and network processors enabling the appliances to provide efficient content inspection processing and 1 Gbps of firewall inspection performance.

The appliances incorporate an SDHC card slot and ExpressCard slot for 3G wireless communications and include 4 GB of SDHC storage for event logging. The ExpressCard slot supports a 3G wireless card for secure mobile deployments or redundant WAN connections.

The FortiGate-60C can be remotely managed by the FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer platforms.

The appliances are enabled by the FortiOS 4.0 MR2 operating system and have a simplified set-up through the USB interface. The appliances can be deployed with any combination of IPSec/SSL VPN, antivirus/anti-malware, web filtering, anti-spam, data loss prevention and voice security services.

Through complete content protection (CCP), the appliances provide the ability to enforce rigorous and granular security policies down to the application level, independent of port or protocol, through the integration of content-aware security technologies into the firewall.
