Dell 10GbE storage and networking solutions and services

Dell has introduced 10GbE storage and networking solutions and services to allow users to create a flexible infrastructure orchestrated through synchronised infrastructure management. With an underlying 10GbE, users can increase performance, decrease costs and consolidate cabling with an end-to-end 10GbE architecture.

The solutions feature: EqualLogic PS6010 arrays with 10GbE and storage consulting services; 10GbE controllers added to its PS6000 series storage arrays; PS6010 and PS6510 deliver up to 10 times more bandwidth per port and up to 2½ times more bandwidth per array than previous versions. The 10GbE EqualLogic arrays can provide a higher level of performance for business applications such as Oracle and Microsoft SQL database applications, streaming video and bandwidth-intensive workloads. They are designed to fully interoperate with the existing 1 Gbps arrays. Together, the PS6500X and version 4.3 of the EqualLogic firmware increase the capacity of the PS6500X with 10 K SAS drives and scale to more than 460 TB of capacity per group, up from 115.2 TB previously. This allows users to scale an EqualLogic architecture to 768 TB per group with the PS6500E. Combined with the latest 10GbE controllers, the EqualLogic range delivers enterprise-class performance and scalability in a cost-effective manner.

Additionally, Dell ProConsult Storage Consolidation services have been enhanced to help users understand the potential of consolidation, select and design the right technology components, integrate technologies and achieve the appropriate level of performance and data protection.
