Dell has released NetVault Backup Version 11, a cross-platform, enterprise backup and recovery solution that offers a broad spectrum of OS, application and backup target support. The product is designed to protect critical application data and simplify server backup and recovery across both physical and virtual environments.

This version offers increased scalability due to a new backend database and features Enterprise Windows client deployment manager that allows users to target up to 1000 clients for automated installation, increasing both efficiency and scalability. The product also offers a high-performance file system multistreaming capability that allows users to break up backups into smaller, simultaneously executed chunks to increase performance.

With restartable VMware backups users can pick up where a job left off, while the NetVault Bare Metal Recovery (BMR) option simplifies and expedites the bare metal recovery process by automating most of the manual processes in rebuilding a server.
