Keep your tech running smoothly with industrial electronic components

Panasonic Industry offers a wide selection of products, designed for constructing high-quality electronic devices. These include both small passive components, such as precision resistors, and electromechanical parts, such as relays. The TME catalogue presents a selection of products that are representative of quality, reliability and diversity.

Motion sensors for smart buildings by Panasonic

Many automatic systems, including smart buildings or alarm systems, use reflective motion sensors. Components of this kind offered by Panasonic are called PaPIR (Panasonic Passive Infrared (or Pyroelectric)). The TME catalogue includes two series of these components; these sensors with digital or analogue output, made of environmentally-friendly materials, are designed to be mounted on a PCB (THT).

Motion sensor: EKMC1603112

The first series are EKMC general-purpose components, equipped with three types of lenses: standard, profiled for wall-mounted devices, or designed to detect movement from long distances (up to 12 metres). They are used in surveillance systems, automatic lighting controllers, HVAC systems, machines intended for public use (such as ticket machines), and multifunction printers. These offer digital or analogue output.

Motion sensor: EKMB1301113K

The EKMB series includes the same selection of lenses and features a low current consumption (even 1μA). Thus, these exclusive digital components are adapted to mobile and battery-powered IoT applications.

Electromagnetic and solid-state relays

The Panasonic Industry brand offers components with a wide range of parameters, in various sizes, adapted to a variety of applications. Miniature, DE, DK, and DS-P series relays are designed for switching currents of up to 10A. They are manufactured to comply with industrial standards for electrical equipment in the EU, Japan and the USA, and are used in power supplies, controllers, consumer electronics, audio/video equipment and household appliances. The contact leads of these series can reach up to 300W (depending on the model), enabling these solutions to be used in consumer automation applications.

The Panasonic TX series of sub-miniature signalling components make up another type of relay, developed for communication, measuring and medical devices. The relays offer good insulation parameters (2000V DC), with small dimensions.

Depending on the model, their nominal coil voltage is up to 3V DC with a 140mW power consumption. These components are also manufactured for telecommunication and measuring applications, as well as for audio-video equipment and safety systems. Two more products, the low-profile elements of AGQ and TX series, are miniaturised versions of the TX and AGN series, with similar parameters. Designed for both THT and SMT mounting, they can be installed directly on a PCB (by machine), as well as in DIL standard stands.

Electromagnetic relay: TX2SA-5V

The single-phase SSR relays (solid-state relays of the AQ-H series) are a reasonable alternative to electromechanical components. Enclosed in PCB mounting cases, they offer dielectric isolation up to 5000V AC and are suitable for American and European power networks (max 600V AC). They feature a low control current (50mA), as well as a wide operating temperature range (from -30°C to 85°C).

Panasonic switches

Switches are small but important components of automation-related equipment, and are often fitted in control panels and various other mechanisms, where they can serve as end switches. They perform a variety of functions, with switches in industrial and consumer automation required to be reliable, durable and resistant to harsh working conditions. This can include high or low temperatures, or dust and moisture.

Snap Action switches in the ASQ, ABJ and ABS series by Panasonic are mechanism-protected by a gasket, with a closed casing that provides an IP67 level of protection. These components are therefore dust and splash proof. They can also operate in temperatures from -45°C to 85°C. The TME catalogue features these products in a variety of formats: sub-miniature size, equipped with levels (including roller levers), and intended for PCB mounting or soldering onto wires.

SNAP ACTION microswitch: ABS1110519J

Detector or sensor switches are often used in general automation. The Panasonic Industry offers the ESE13 and ESE18 series of switches, designed to detect the presence of a medium in electronic devices, or cover open/close in a metering device. The devices have small dimensions and are suitable for surface mounting (SMT).

Panasonic also offers TACT-type microswitches in compact surface-mounted cases. The TME catalogue features the EVQQ2, EVQPL and EVPAA series. These products are primarily intended for consumer electronic devices, such as mobile phones, laptops, and portable and car audio players. These switches feature a simple SPST configuration of contacts, are surface mounted, and machine installation-friendly.

Panasonic passive components

The Panasonic Industry also offers a variety of passive components in the TME catalogue, with outstanding parameters, manufactured for a range of industries. The aluminium, electrolytic SMD capacitors in Panasonic’s FK and FT series are designed for surface mounting. They are low-impedance (low ESR) components, adapted to work with high ripple currents. They can also be protected against vibrations, making them suitable for electrical vehicles or industrial machines.

The components are primarily applied to voltage filtering systems in the automotive industry and in industrial machines, telecommunications, and network equipment. The components (particularly the FT series) are compact in size, and resistant to high temperatures (max. from 2000h to 5000h operation at 105°C).

Electrolytic capacitor: EEEFK0J102AP

The Panasonic Industry’s precision SMD resistors are components that are designed to build reliable, compact electronic circuits. Offered in standard 0603 and 0805 cases, they are manufactured with 0.1% tolerance. The resistors have a maximum power of 100mW or 125mW, with maximum voltages reaching 150V and 200V.

SMD resistor: ERA3AEB103V

The Panasonic Industry’s inductors are reliable components designed for use in modern ECUs, under severe environmental conditions. These elements can reach inductance of 0.68μH to up to 33μH in a compact, low-profile form factor. The inductors feature a maximum current of 16.6A, making them suitable for building DC-DC power supplies of control units or BLDC motor actuators.
