Kontron has released the 1U mini-format industrial server range Kontron KISS 1U Short that features a 25% reduced installation depth. The compact format offers the latest multicore processor performance, two SATA hard disks with optional RAID functionality and two PCI expansion slots for customer-specific expansion options.

Hewlett-Packard has released StorageWorks X1000 and X3000 network storage systems that unify file and application storage to simplify storage infrastructures. With a single, unified system, businesses do not need to invest in separate storage systems for file and database data. The new network-attached storage solutions provide up to 35% more usable capacity through file deduplication while also increasing file serving performance by up to 30%.

3Com has launched an extensible data centre switching platform and a next-generation management platform. The H3C S12500 data centre aggregation and high-end enterprise core switch is built on a modern system architecture that delivers 2.2 billion packets per second (Bpps) of forwarding through a 6.6 Tbps non-blocking fabric, with up to 128 non-blocking 10 Gb or 864 non-blocking gigabit ethernet ports and 50% less power consumption than competing products; a combination that delivers lower total cost of ownership (TCO) in both capex and opex.
