John Holland, Lendlease to expand use of Aconex
Aconex, a provider of a cloud-based collaboration platform for the construction industry, has picked up two new three-year contracts with Australian companies.
Melbourne-based John Holland group, a subsidiary of China Communications Construction Company, and Sydney-headquartered Lendlease have both extended their relationship with Aconex through new enterprise agreements.
John Holland will make the platform available for all its construction and engineering projects in Australia, New Zealand and Southeast Asia.
The company is already using the Aconex platform to manage projects including the $1.2 billion construction of Perth Children's Hospital, the $650 million public private partnership project to construct the medium-security Ravenhall Prison and the $600 million Victorian Regional Rail Link.
Property and infrastructure group Lendlease will meanwhile standardise the use of Aconex across its building business in Australia and major construction projects in Asia.
Lendlease plans to use Aconex to automate its project collaboration and information management processes and enhance its mobile capabilities. The company aims to implement the platform for the entire project life cycle, from feasibility and design through to construction and inspections.
The new contracts come days after Aconex revealed it had signed a similar agreement with Bechdel, one of the world's largest engineering, procurement and construction firms. Bechdel plans to progressively standardise the use of the platform across all its business units worldwide.
