Akamai, Fujitsu strengthen partnership in ANZ

Akamai and Fujitsu have expanded their strategic relationship to allow the companies to enhance the efficiency, scalability and flexibility of cloud solutions offered to customers in Australia and New Zealand.

Under the agreement, Akamai will expand the services and solutions it makes available in Australia at Fujitsu’s Melbourne data centre. Fujitsu will meanwhile offer Akamai’s cloud computing services and security solutions to its ANZ customers under its portfolio of hybrid multi-cloud offerings.

The key solutions underpinning the agreement include Akamai’s Connected Cloud distributed edge and cloud platform, as well as its Guardicore segmentation solution for enhanced cybersecurity.

Akamai regional director for ANZ James Richmond said the collaboration will benefit businesses in the region across sectors including retail, education, local government, manufacturing, mining and health care.

“We are strengthening and broadening the scope of our engagement with Fujitsu to assist ANZ organisations effectively use digital channels for better customer interactions,” he said. “Akamai and Fujitsu are applying our combined expertise to expand our footprint in the cloud market and help organisations control spiralling costs through an open-source platform.”

Fujitsu VP of service delivery Peter Grassi added that the collaboration will help organisations tackle rising cloud costs, which he said is one of the biggest pressures facing organisations today.

“This synergy between Fujitsu and Akamai will deliver fantastic value to our ANZ customers by providing them with a secure, cost-effective solution,” he said. “Combining Akamai’s expertise in cloud computing services and Fujitsu’s established leadership and network in the market, we aim to create a seamless and comprehensive cloud experience for our customers.”
