Interactive launches sovereign private cloud service

Australian IT service provider Interactive has launched a sovereign, AI-ready private cloud platform that aims to offer its customers the scale and flexibility of a public cloud experience in a controlled environment.

The Interactive Private Cloud solution is designed to help enterprises address concerns such as rising cloud costs, data sovereignty and the risks and complications associated with traditional cloud platforms. The offering supports hybrid cloud models, and offers an onshore solution that seeks to address concerns around cloud migration.

Research from ADAPT suggests that one in four organisations are repatriating workloads from the public cloud due to cost, compliance and control concerns.

Interactive head of cloud David Leen said Australian enterprise IT leaders often feel stuck with inflexible infrastructure and providers.

“[They are also] under pressure to deliver AI outcomes without the right foundation. Our Private Cloud is designed to change this landscape, combining the agility of public cloud with the assurance of sovereign AI infrastructure,” he said. “Public cloud is a great place for experimentation, but it’s not always where you want to productionise AI.

“When sustained, high-performance compute demands cause costs to balloon, many AI business cases start to unravel. Our AI-ready private cloud gives organisations a smarter alternative: the compute, control and transparency they need to scale AI responsibly.”

The product launch forms part of Interactive’s broader Unite28 strategy, which involves a shift from transactional services to more long-term collaboration with customers and partners, Leen said. The platform also reflects the company’s investment in sovereign capability, skills development and sustainable infrastructure.
