Juniper cloud networking platform

Juniper Networks has announced software, silicon and systems designed to enable the ‘new network’ for enterprise and service provider customers.

The Junos open cross-network software platform allows users to directly program multiple layers of their networks for comprehensive user experiences, good economics and fast time to market. Along with the Junos network operating system, it includes the Space network application platform and the Pulse integrated network client.

The Junos One range of processors includes the Trio chipset with 3D scaling that enables networks to support more subscribers, services and bandwidth. Trio, available in modular line cards and 3.5 routers for the Juniper MX series, is said to provide two to four times faster throughput (up to 2.6 Tb/s) and uses half the power per gigabit. The MX 3D products enable delivery of business, residential and mobile services at a large scale on a single network and include two MX80 series 3.5inch 3D routers, claimed to be eight times faster, and designed for delivering carrier ethernet services for multi-tenant buildings, as well as mobile aggregation, video and enterprise-edge deployments.

Cloud networking and security solutions, based on the Junos software platform and Juniper systems, use Juniper’s simplified data centre network architecture to help customers share and secure their infrastructures while delivering and accessing cloud-based services.
